Minister's Letter - November 2012
Rev Peter Cornick
Rev Peter Cornick‘Infinite variety’ is the phrase used to describe Cleopatra in Shakespeare! But it might describe worship in our Church. Some churches, and I don’t criticise them, offer a worship band style every week; others a liturgical Mass. We offer variety.

Music is led by the organ, a worship band, a brass band and occasional other instruments. Most services encompass choruses, modern hymns, traditional hymns, extempore prayer, written famous prayers and silence.

And in our preachers, a wealth of experience of God’s blessing in their lives – differing interpretations of Biblical texts to make us think.

Being in a new Circuit has already offered the richness of new preachers – being in a national church brought to us an excellent view of the church in Russia a few weeks ago. ‘Infinite variety’? That is what we offer.

But infinite variety extends beyond Sunday mornings. Saturday Church is an informal gathering of worship, activity and fellowship aimed at families.

The Shoppers’ Service is a fellowship all of its own, with more of a ‘thought for the day’ style about it.

Our young people worship in differing ways again; an emphasis on discussion and interaction is key.

You see, the variety is infinite.
